Install the app (PWA)

Cool Route is a progressive web app (PWA). You do not install it from the App Store or Google Play. You install it from the browser while you are logged in at app.coolroute.app.

Installing is the same app the office uses — on a phone you get bottom tabs (Today, Jobs, Schedule, Stock, More).

Why install

• Home-screen icon, full-screen chrome
• Faster return visits
• Offline job status, notes, photos, estimates, and parts queues (with limits)

Maps, address lookup, and billing still need a network.

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

1. Log in at app.coolroute.app in Safari (not Chrome-in-app, not a mail preview).
2. Tap the Share button.
3. Choose Add to Home Screen.
4. Name it Cool Route and add it.

TODO: if iOS ever shows a native install prompt, screenshot it here. Today, Share → Add to Home Screen is the reliable path.

Android (Chrome)

1. Log in in Chrome.
2. Use the browser menu → Install app or Add to Home screen, or accept the install banner if it appears.
3. Open Cool Route from the home screen / app drawer.

Desktop (Chrome or Edge)

1. Log in in Chrome or Edge.
2. Look for the install icon in the address bar, or the browser menu Install Cool Route.
3. Open it like any other desktop app.

After install

Stay logged in on the device you take to jobs. The first visits while online help the app cache pages you will need in a basement or rural lot. See Offline & PWA.

If the app shows an update prompt after a release, apply it on Wi-Fi before the next route.
