Estimates

Open Estimates. Statuses you will see:

Status Meaning
Draft Still being written
Accepted Customer agreed
Declined Customer passed
Converted Turned into a job
  • From Estimates → new estimate
  • From a job (common on the truck — see Estimates on site)

Line items can come from the price book or be typed. Tax uses the company default unless you override it on the document. TODO: confirm per-line tax toggles in the current form.

Owners, admins, and senior technicians can convert an estimate into a job. Regular technicians can write and save estimates (including offline drafts) but do not convert them.

Converted estimates keep the link so the office can invoice from the resulting job.

Field techs can create and edit estimates on site, including while offline. Those drafts sync when the phone is back on a network. The office should review totals before promising a schedule slot.

  • Put the customer and service address on the estimate before sending a number.
  • After acceptance, convert promptly so Schedule stays true.
  • Do not treat a draft in a tech’s offline queue as already in the office until sync finishes.
